Join Me on the Mat runs Join Me on the Mat (online yoga classes). This page explains what personal data we keep, why, and your rights under the UK GDPR. Contact: michelle@joinmeonthemat.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email address and PIN (we store only a scrambled form of the PIN), the date you accepted our policy and health statement.
  • Classes: your bookings, waiting-list entries, attendance, class credits and the codes you used.
  • Payments: what you bought, the amount and the date. Card numbers go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them. If you choose automatic recharge, Stripe keeps your card for us.
  • Devices: if you turn on notifications, a technical address for your device so we can send them. We also keep short-lived security logs (for example, how many sign-in links were requested).
  • Analytics, only if you accept cookies: which pages are visited.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and your classes, take payment and send you your class links and reminders (this is needed to provide the service).
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, and to keep payment records (our legitimate interests and our legal duties).
  • Analytics cookies and notifications only with your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.

Who receives it

  • Stripe (payments), Google (Google Meet for the classes and, if you accept, Google Analytics), Cloudflare (bot protection and security) and our web hosting and email providers. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

  • Your account data: until you delete your account.
  • Payment records: 6 years, because the law requires us to keep accounts. After you delete your account they are kept without your name or email.
  • Sign-ups you never confirm are deleted after 3 days. Security logs are deleted after a few days.

Your rights

  • You can download your data and delete your account yourself in My Account. You can also ask us to correct your details, or to restrict or stop using them.
  • If you are unhappy with how we use your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
